Ensure all areas outside of the boot are clean. Allow to dry naturally, away from direct sources of heat which will dry out rubber. Occasional treat the rubber with a rubber conditioner which will help preserve and reduce the possibility of cracking and splitting. Should the boot contain a fabric like Neoprene or Nylon, use a damp cloth and a light cleaning solution to remove excessive dirt. Inner linings can also be cleaned in this way.
